Jill Schad
Jill retired with her husband Donald to the Black Hills in 2001. She knew 36 years ago this is where she wanted to be when Donald brought her to Spearfish, the canyon and surrounding areas on their honeymoon. Donald, a graduate of Black Hills State, knew it would feel like home for her like it always did for him.
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, the Hills captured Jills' heart. Although she loves the mountain greenery, wildlife and seasons, she is also fascinated by South Dakotas' farmlands and prairies. The beauty and variety of this state captures her imagination and peaks her creativity and kept her returning every year to visit.
Jill owned and operated a travel agency in Henderson, Nevada for 18 years before retiring to the hills. She and Donald traveled to many interesting places around the world but always felt a strong draw to this area of South Dakota.
