Francis Hayes
Francis was born October 23, 1931 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Raised at Ridge, Montana he spent all of his years on the ranch, except his high school years in Belle Fourche.
Francis Learned to fly in 1951 and received his private license in 1952 followed by his commercial license in 1953 continuing on in 1954 to get his instructors license. Through the years he flew charter planes, did crop spraying, flew over his neighbors sheep and cattle along with other odds and ends.
In 1955 he married Elsa L. Loken, To this union four children were born.
In 1963 Francis started a 3 year art course at home through Famous Artist Course. He finished the course in 1966 and started painting western themed pictures and portraits.
Francis has been a board member on Southeast Electric since 1976. For fourteen years he has been the Chairperson. He also served on the Midwest Electric Consumers board for 16 years.
